The Pigs Will Fly

I am Lauren, a recent University of Liverpool English Literature and Language graduate who has wanted to travel ever since watching Michael Palin gambol across the globe. I was so young that I can’t even tell you how old I was.

I also love writing. So there we have it, a travel blog. Simple enough.

In February 2014 I will be embarking on a six month journey around the world (sort of). I will be accompanied by my wonderful friend of three years, ‘Pinky’ (Pig related pseudonym, get it? OK most of you know her as Lucy anyway).  We have travelled Thailand together for four weeks, and have lived together at for the duration of University, so have hopefully by now learned exactly what makes us tick and exactly when to leave one another alone. (Believe me, this is the magic ingredient in a travelling companion!)

At the grand old age of 23 and I have had many reasons to put off an adventure of this calibre over the last few years. But now the time has come when the rest of life must be put on hold before I claw my eyes out in frustration!

So here we go, off to Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Chile, New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos.

Many loved ones will be missed, but I can thank only one in particular for allowing this journey to happen, in good grace, in spite of the out come. Thank you JMB.
